Losing Hope

Promises lie broken, faith ambushed
Nothing is going the way it should,
Life is a mirage, unforgiving
I have never been what I could.

Call it fate, provenance or celestial games
I don't believe myself any more,
With lead of angst in my veins
I just hope that hope remains.

COUNCILLOR HAMANN: Perhaps. But we can hope.
LOCK: I'm afraid hope is an indulgence I don't have time for.

By far the best piece...We live and feed on the chimera that is hope...we cannot lose it..can we??

I was tempted to write "Hope is an adultress I don't have time for" ~ Prasoon; but somehow stuck to the original. And yes we continue to be hopelessly hopeful.
