I pray for peace but it refuses,
The alarm wins after six snoozes.
Body gets bathed and the face gets shaven,
In a rush to catch the shuttle at seven.
The sun is out and the skies are bright,
But the sway of night still holds deep,
I hear the bells ring in a distant temple,
And I keep on walking in my sleep.
Our birth is but a sleep and a forgetting; the soul that rises with us, our life's star.

Hyenas
They are running free again,
Only blood will quench their thirst.
Run! Run rabit run,
The weakest will fall first.
Only blood will quench their thirst.
Run! Run rabit run,
The weakest will fall first.

Chlorophyll
The soft green glow of the glow worms
The vibrant green radiance of radium
The green of fields in the spring sun
The green of phosphor, bright sans burns
The green of fern on the window sill
The green of mines that emeralds fill
The green of envy that could kill
The green of life, you’re my chlorophyll.
